Al Jawhara Kaftans Event

Mikla - istanbul, Turkey

After checking out tons of reviews, we settled for dinner at Mikla, for our night choice of light food in an elegant restaurant.  Sadly ts been raining non stop, so we didn't enjoy the location of the restaurant.  its known for its outdoor terracem not to mention spectacular views of Istanbul from its high locationm on the rooftop of The Marmara Pera Hotel in Taksim.  It was too quiet for our taste but thats part of its elegant package.  The food was fantastic, we were too full to order starters so we went directly for the main course and cancelled dessert.  Service, presentation, and food was perfect. Resrvations are required.
بعد ما بحثنا عن مطعم راقي في اسطنبول اقترحت للي معاي ان نروح مطعم ميكلا واللي يقع في سطح فندق مرمرة بيرا في تكسيم.  للأسف كان الجو ممطر وكانوا مسكرين القعدة الخارجية على البلكونه وهي المشهورة في المطعم بسبب المناظر للمدينة والقعدة الحلو.  الأكل لذيذ كنا شبعانين فما طلبنا غير الطبق الرئيسي وكان جدا لذيذ.  أنصح اذا بتروحونله يكون في جو يسمح ان تقعدون في الخارج

My Stay at The House Hotel Nisantasi - Istanbul, Turkey

The House Hotel was our choice since our first trip to Istanbul, but we had to change to stay at both W and The Sofa Hotel.  For this trip there was no question that we stay at The House Hotel in Nisantasi, having  great location right on top of Prada.  The street were it was located on had lots of luxury, other great boutiques, and good restaurants. Their staff were also really helpful and sweet.  The best thing about this hotel was the room, it was the best I stayed in in Istanbul! Even better than the next grand luxury hotel I next stayed in.  Just to be fair, I chose a larger than the standard room, the Deluxe King room and these were located in the middle (as seen in picture with the three terraces) and had large ceiling to floor windows and were really spacious.  Given the price I was extremely content with this choice.  The toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, and shower gel) were exclusivly made for the hotel by Lokum, a boutique in Bebek (theres another branch in London's Knightsbridge) that specilized in perfumes, candles and Turkish delight.  The products in the hotel all had the fragrance of mastic or Turkish delight, which was just perfect, for a modern Turkish brand boutique hotel.  The House Hotel, like The Sofa Hotel, is a member of Design Hotels.
من آخر زيارة لنا لإسطنبول كان ودنا نسكن في فندق البوتيك ذا هاوس لكن ظروفنا ما اسمحتلنا واخترنا فندق دابليو وفندق ذا سوفا. وخلال سفرتنا قررنا ان هالمرة نسكن في ذا هاوس فرع نيشانتشي واللي يقع فوق برادا وحوله محلات ومطاعم كثيرة.  أكثر شي عجبني في الفندق هو الغرفة وانا اخترت الغرفة الديلوكس وهي أكبر من الغرفة العادية ومكانها في كل طابق في نص الفندق وفيها درايش كبيرة من السقف الى الأرض و 3 بلكونات (الصورة) وسعرها ممتاز على حجم الغرفة. ومستحضرات الحمام خصيصا من محل لوكم في منطقة بيبيك (عنده فرع في نايتسبريدج لندن) ومعطرة رائحتها المستكة أو الحلقوم والي هو ما يمتاز  فيه المحل بالإضافة الى العطورات والشموع. فندق ذا هاوس هو عضو في مجموعة فنادق ديزاين (مثل فندق ذا هاوس)

Saray Muhallebicisi - Istanbul, Turkey

Saray Muhallebicisi is a cafe in Istanbul, Turkey that has opened since 1935 and is popular with locals and tourists.  I've been unlucky on my first visit to this cafe, choosing to sit in the popular Nisantasi branch, I didn't like what I had.  Eyeing nearby tables I noticed most if not all of the people around had ordered the 'kazandibi', which is shredded chicken in burnt pudding, didn't sound that appetizing to me, but appearently everyone says its good.  Maybe next time I visit Istanbul, I'll give it a try.  On our recent visit, we missed Istanbul's  Turkish tea and Turkish coffee so much, that we wanted to give this cafe another try to dismiss our previous verdict. Their Sehlep, a winter thick milk with mastic drink topped with cinnamon, was good but runny, we didn't like their kenafe because it was served burnt and was really oily.  We went for a second time, and I loved their chocolate pudding. The word 'Muhallebicisi' means pudding (muhalabeya), so they are supposed to be good at producing that.  Go for the chocolate pudding!
افتتح مقهى ساراي موهلليبيسي عام 1935 وهو المقهى المفضل للمحليين والسواح.  تجربتي في المقهى كانت فاشلة وكنت رابحة للفرع المشهور في نيشانتشي ولكن قلنا نجرب مرة ثانية خلال سفرتنا الأخيرة وتجربتي كانت في فرعين.  السحلب ما كان سيء لكن سائل مثل الماء والقهوة التركية والشاي كان جيد ومضبوط أما الكنافة كانت فاشلة محترقة ودهن وطعمها عادي.  في زيارتي الأخيرة قررت أجرب المحلبية بالككاو ولأن المقهى مختص في المحلبية وأكثر المقاهي في اسطنبول تقدم أنواع كثيرة والواحد يحتار شنو يختار.  المحلبية ممتازة وأنصح فيها.  ودايما نلاحظ ان الكل يطلب المحلبية المحروقة وفيهل قطع دجاج واكتشفنا ان الطبق الأكثر طلب وان شاء الله في المرة الياية أتشجع وأجربه

Chilai - Istanbul, Turkey

Chilai wasn't on our food itenerary, until my friend and a local couple mentioned it.  It is said to be one of the best in Bebek area of Istanbul, Turkey and there's also Lucca (the new IT meeting place in Istanbul) and Poseidon (a seafood restaurant).  So while we were looking for lunch in the area, we settled for Chilai and were bedazzled.  The view was magnificent just what we were looking for.  In my opinion the restaurant looks like a place that is much suited for dinner.  The food was fantastic, an international menu and it was not easy to leave the place seeing with our perfectly located table.  Get a table by the window.
ما كنا مفكرين نروح مطعم تشيلاي في منطقة بيبيك في اسطنبول الا بعد ما قالولنا عنه أتراك شفناهم في المنطقة وصديقتي كانت قايلتلي عنه لكن ما اقتنعت الا في اللحظة الأخيرة واحنا ندور مطعم في الجو الممطر.  بعد ما كلينا فيه عرفت ان هو من أفضل مطاعم المنطقة مع مطعم لوكا (الجديد واكثر مكان عليه زحمة) ومطعم الأكل البحري بوسايدون.  عجبنا المطعم والسبب الرئيسي كان ان موقعه على البوسفور ويطل عليه وقعدنا بالضبط عند الماي بس كان مسكر بالزجاج لأن كان شتاء والبرد قوي. أكله لذيذ وعالمي.  لكن برأيي المطعم يصلح للعشاء أكثر.
