UMU - London, UK

Umu, a Michelin starrred restaurant tucked in Mayfair, UK's first Kyoto restaurant, was on my list of have to visit restaurants in London.  I like the idea that even though it looks like an old Kyoto restaurant in Japan, that the wooden door slides open automatically when you press the button outside.  The place is dark and the decor is really nice.  This must be one of the most expensive restaurants we've been to during the trip, but the quality of the food, and the complimentary dishes we had made up for it.  Sadly my photos weren't that good. Reservations are required for dinner.
Address: 14-16 Bruton Place
Opening times: Mon-Fri 12:00-2:30pm, 6:00-11:00pm
Sat 6:00-11:00pm
Closed on Sundays
